Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mothers out there.
This morning Me, Dustin, Brooke, & Shaun went over to my moms house to make her home-made strawberry waffles. My mom loves them and we don't have them very often. Brooke and I gave my mom a pedicure gift certificate and a "Families are Forever" vinyl lettering sign. She loved it! We love it too.
Heres a picture of the lettering we put up on her wall!

Happy Mothers Day Mom! We love you!

I've been at it again...

I've been at it again! I did another Picture Arrangement! Picture Arranging is surprisingly fun! I really like it! I might not actually be very good at this but I enjoy doing it and that's all that matters. Dusty told me that we have enough pictures of us up but what else am I supposed to frame and put up? I've been off of work this week because Dr. B is out of town. I decided to spend the time wisely and have done a different project everyday this week. On Monday, I finished painting both bathrooms then rearranged my bedroom furniture. Tuesday I organized the back bedroom and file cabinet and put up these wedding pictures. Today, Wednesday, I deep cleaned the front room, kitchen and den! Woo. I'm exhausted, especially because I got up early and did it before work. I had to work day after all!
We've had different wedding pictures up since we have been married but not a really good arrangement or assortment. I just got a Costco card with my sister so I ordered some of our wedding pictures. Costco's pictures are super cheap! I went to the Wal-Mart and bought a few frames! They were on sale for $3 dollars each! A friend had told me they were on sale and I thought that they might be crappy or ugly but they were really cute!
I put this arrangement up in our den room. I printed pictures that were "the same" so I could put them across from each other. In other words, I did a picture of me and my bridesmaids and a picture of Dustin and his groomsmen.
There is a big glare from our sliding glass mirror! Sorry, it is kind of hard to see!

From Brown to Blue

Today we had the trim of our house painted. We've been wanting to have it painted for a while now. My friend, Jaclyn, from work, her brother, Cody, paints houses so he came by Friday and Saturday and painted our house! It turned out great.
The old brown paint was chipped and faded. Heres a before picture of the house..Hopefully you can tell that it used to be brown.

Now our house is BLUE! I love it! We choose a great color!

Thanks Cody!

Please Welcome...

Today we were able to pick up our new boxer puppy! We are so excited! We got her from the same lady that we got Addison from. We really liked her and think her dogs are really good looking. Addison has such nice lines, great color, never barks, and obeys pretty good.
Before I show the new puppy pictures, here is a picture of Addison in her new favorite spot. She loves to look outside the window thru the screen door until recently when we bought a new couch. The new couch sits in front of our huge window in the front room. Shes been standing on the edge of the new couch so she can look out! She looks so funny! Crazy Girl!

Then when she is all done looking out the window and is tired, she looks like this!

Sleeping on the same couch that she was jusy standing on!
Heres our new puppy! Dustin named her this time! He named her EMILY! We're going to call her EMMY Girl so it can be EMMY & ADDY girl! So cute! She is 8 weeks old today. The previous owners named her diamond because of the spot on the middle of her back!

Emmy seems to like the side of the couch! Shes all tired out from seeing everyone today!

New Edition

Dustin and I recieved a new edition to our family yesterday. We are watching Dr. Bogle's dog, Milo, for a few weeks. Heres a video of them playing. Its so funny to see big old Addison and tiny little Milo play tug-a-war! Addison is so passive! Its hilarious.

Is Picture Arranging A Hobby?

I printed some pictures that I have taken over the past few weeks on my digital camera yesterday. I mostly just upload my pictures to the computer from my digital camera. So I bought a bunch of frames and decided to put all of my pictures up on the front room wall. While I was putting the pictures in the frames, windexing the glass, and measuring the wall for all my frames, I realized that I really enjoy arranging frames on the wall. I liked it better than taking the pictures or printing them. I'm not sure if Picture Arranging is an official hobby but for me it is!
Here is a picture of the frames I did last night! :)
The picture in the upper right hand corner is actually not a picture of us. I haven't had a 5x7 made yet! I will though!

April 22, 2009

My dog, Addison, was laying on the chair when I noticed her blowing bubbles thru the sides of her checks. Her eyes were half shut and her tongue was sticking out a little. It was the funniest thing. I took a video of it. Unfortunately, the sound doesn't work, or I just don't know how to fix it.

Engaged? Oh wait, we're already married!

Christa was in town this weekend and took some pictures of me and Dustin. We were noticing that we don't really have any pictures of us together except our wedding pictures and a few others here and there. So we took some pictures together. A few look like they could be engagement pictures! :) ha

We love them! Thanks girl!

Disneyland!

This weekend Dusty and I went to Disneyland with his parents and friends! Dustins friend Spencer lives in Los Angeles so he was able to come and we were able to stay with him! We had such a blast! We did lots of fun rides, a few over and over again! My only complaint was that it was SO BUSY! It was spring break for a lot of schools so it was just super crowded! Plus it got pretty hot! It was still fun though!

Arizona!

This weekend I went to Arizona with my mom, aunts and grandma! We went because my cousin Ashley was getting married! I had such a fun time! I had not seen my cousins in a while so it was fun to catch up! I also got to see Becca! She weaved in some more blond for me! I love it! She did such a great job!
I have pictures of both!
Dustin went camping with his dad and brother while I was in Arizona! They had a blast together! Dust also took our dog too! He said she did pretty good!
I also sent our first house payment! It was the first time that I had fun writing out a check! Ha

I took this picture on my iphone so its not very good!

What do you mean we're still busy..

This week we were busy again! We went to our friends baby blessing! Little Sophie is so cute! What a fun time to share with Curtis and Courtney! I will put a picture of that cute girl up!

We went to dinner with Chad & Tiffany and Spencer while he was in town!
We finally got our Direct Tv installed and our Internet up and running!
I even managed to get Dustin new church clothes! He has been in need of new church clothes for a while now!
We were able to go see 1 week old puppies too! The lady we bought Addison from had another batch if puppies and so we decided to get another one! Addison is so good so I the only way I would get another one would be to get one from this same lady. There's something about her boxers! We get a new puppy at the end of April!

Moving In!

This week we spent our time doing small projects and moving in! We moved all our boxes into the den until I could open each individual box. I didn't want to rush and just start putting stuff where ever! I want it to be all organized!
Dustin put in new 3 and 1/2 inch baseboards this week and replaced all the door frames with cute new ones!

We replaced all the light switches, all the ceiling light fixures, the mini blinds in the master bedroom and front room, installed the new washer & dryer Dr Bogle gave us and installed Addisons doggie door! I also bought a cute area rug and a ficus tree!

This week has been crazy!

Lamenite and Carpet!

This weekend we had brand new carpet put in the three bedrooms! We chose a golden tan based carpet with dark speckles! A friend of Dustin's Dad installed it for us for only $200!
Dustin and his dad spent Saturday laying down hardwood lamenite in the front room and halls. We chose the Brazillian Cherry by Kingston. I absolutely love it! Dust and his dad did a great job of cutting and laying down the hardwood! It looks better than I expected! We saved a ton of money by having Dustin do it!

Pictures of this to come too!

Valentines Day!

For Valentines Day, we did something her different this year! We worked on the house ALL DAY! I wanted to! I just really wanted our house to get done so we could finally move in! It's been a long and tiring 2 and 1/2 weeks! At about 7:30 we finally quit to go out to eat. We had reservations at Sakayna at 9:30! I knew it would be a long day so I put us at the last appt available! We had a great time! The food was good, the service was great and the other people at the table were cool too! Over all, it was a nice day.
Picture to go here too!

Painting the house

So Dustins dad, David has a professional spray paint gun!
We were able to get the wall paper off in the living room, kitchen(by far the hardest room), both bathrooms, and the master bedoom. David and Dustin started by painting the ceilings bright white! The next day they painting the completed rooms a gold tan color. We chose a Behr paint called Desert Camel. Its exactly what I wanted! A few days earlier my dad came over and taped off everything. He did such a wonderful job! He's so meticulous so every room had a perfect line where the ceiling and the walls meet! We decided the bathrooms could be completed after we move in since they don't require any covering really. We decided to hand roll the den since we are not changing out the carpet in there just yet. The sprayer can get so messy!
I've been so proud of all the hard work Dusty has put in to our first home! We've been so blessed to have such great friends and family who have come over and help with our big project! Thank you! We love you!
This picture came off my iphone so its not that good! sorry!

Wallpaper, Wallpaper, and more Wallpaper!

Wallpaper takes FOREVER to take down/off! We worked all day and all night and only got one and a half rooms done! Dustin and his dad have bought all the different types of wallpaper removing tools! We have scrapers, hot water bottles, a rented steamer, razor blades and finger nails! We quickly discovered which method we personally preferred!
Chad & Tiffany, Katie, Courtney, Shaun & Brooke, grandma Billie, Stan & Susan (my mom & dad), Brad & Brent, David & Kim (dusts parents), Sydne and Stephanie all came over through out the week to help with the wallpaper! Most everyone was sweet enough to come everyday! Especially when we were all sore from bending over or reach up high!
On top of all this excitement, we babysat for the Bogles over the weekend!
Pictures if the wallpaper to come, as soon as I can get my Internet to work again!

The first day of cleaning!

Today was the first day of clearing out the house, cleaning the house and tearing down all the wall paper!
Dustin, Me, Katie, Stephanie and my parents and my brothers helped clear out the house!
My grandma and my aunt had left quite a bit of stuff that needed to be sort thru and trashed! We had gathered so much stuff that we had to request a city street curb pick up! Our pile was 5 feet high! Crazy! That was fun.
We also started the wall paper tonight! Not a fun process! We thought it was going to be easy since the back room was coming off in huge strips! It's been anything but easy! We started in the living room!
I will put a video of it here!

Signing our lives away...

Today Dustin and I went and signed the final documents for our new house. We are all done and will be able to move in as soon as my aunt leaves for home. Hopefully Saturday, if not, then Monday.

5 Things I have learned about buying a house:
1. You, the loan officer, the underwritter, and the escrow officer will become best friends! Multiple phone calls, text messages, voicemails and emails are exchanged ALL DAY, EVERYDAY.
2. Be close to a fax machine at all times. You give, collect, gather information constantly! You think you have it all together then your loan/escrow officer will call asking for 1 more piece of information.
3. The Interest Rate is actually a gambleing game! One day the interest rates go down 2 points and the next day they go up 5! You just never know if the rates are going to continue to drop or if they will go up. Then when you think the time is right, you lock in your rate. Luckily, we locked in right before the rates sky-rocketed!
4. You better be a good at signing your name because you do it a lot. Every single page has to have a signature.
5. Signing Loan Docs should be renamed to Sign this huge book that signs your life away. I thought Loan Documents would be like 10 pages, maybe. Little did I know that I would be signing a book! I swear there was 50 plus pages! Every pages has at least 1 signature or initial line.

In the end it is all worth it. I would do it all again, if I had to. Dustin and I are so excited.

Next Post...And the wall-paper came tumbling down.

Can you say home owner?

My grandma passed away in August of last year. My great aunt Sheila is the trustee of the home that my grandma owned. Dustin and I were given the opportunity to buy the house just this last month. We opened escrow on December 30th and escrow should close this Friday (earlier than planned)! We are so FREAKIN eXcItEd! The house is 3 bedroom 2 bath, 1300 square feet with a huge backyard and RV parking on the side. The house is off of Willow between Shaw and Ashlan. We will be in the Peachwood ward in the North Stake. Weldon elementary school. I can hardly wait to move! The paperwork to buy the house was never ending but definately worth it! The bank just wants everything you can think of! We are truely blessed to be getting this house. I am so glad that we have been saving. We were able to put down a great down payment! We are going to be doing a few things to the house so I will post pictures of that coming up real soon!
